Against the backdrop of Hong Kong's vibrant urban energy, I observed a significant shift in the local culinary scene. Traditional Hong Kong-style BBQ joints, once iconic fixtures of the city's culinary identity, were becoming increasingly sparse. While the aroma of charred meats still lingered in the air, the sight of BBQ stalls had become a rarity, replaced by modern establishments or shuttered storefronts. Despite the nostalgic allure of these disappearing landmarks, the silver lining was the accessibility of Hong Kong-style BBQ, with prices becoming more affordable for locals and visitors alike.
