Today, I walked around Hong Kong Island with fellow photographer Toby C., who’s back in town from the UK for a visit. We explored the vibrant streets with our cameras, capturing everyday moments and the raw character that defines the city. During our walk, Toby mentioned that headshot photography is booming in the UK right now—far more in demand than what we typically see in Hong Kong. It’s interesting how the perception and value of professional portraits vary by market. In the UK, people seem to understand the importance of presenting themselves professionally online. Here in Hong Kong, that awareness is growing, but it’s still far from mainstream.
